The solid wood walls and dowelled wood ceilings are available throughout the DACH region, i.e., in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as in Italy. Projects in other countries are also possible on request.
Woodbloc is interesting for all customers in timber construction – for private builders who want to construct a wooden house, for municipalities planning public buildings such as kindergartens, schools, etc., for companies that want to build or expand, as well as for housing and multi-storey residential construction and many other projects. We sell our solid wood products to carpentry businesses and construction companies. We also support architects and planners with tendering for various timber construction projects, as well as end consumers who want to realize their construction project with Woodbloc walls and ceilings.
Woodbloc is ideal for all projects, such as wooden houses, residential and multi-storey construction, commercial buildings, or public facilities built with wood. You can implement new builds, conversions, refurbishments and extensions – in pure solid timber construction, but also combined with timber frame construction or hybrid construction, meaning combined with bricks and wood.
We deliver on the desired date with our own inloader / semi-trailer trucks directly to the construction site or the customer’s company premises. Self-collection at our factory is possible, and a freight carrier can also be commissioned for collection.
Our walls consist of untreated, solid wooden boards, and the beams of the ceilings are made of untreated sawn or structural solid wood. They are connected without glue, with wooden nails or dowels. The Woodbloc wall and ceiling systems can be 100 percent dismantled or recycled. You have significantly lower CO₂ emissions, receive a sustainable, ecological building material, all advantages of solid timber construction, and benefit from short construction times, fast progress on site, and more weather-independent work.
Absolutely: Yes. The nails are driven into the wood at around 8 bar. The wooden nails themselves ensure stability. When the nails are driven in, frictional heat creates a natural, strong adhesive effect. This lignin adhesion makes other fasteners unnecessary. A practically inseparable wood-to-wood connection is created. The wood layers are arranged vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. This strengthens the wall in all directions. The combination of wood with wood and the special arrangement of the layers enables high shear, tensile, and compressive strength as well as stiffness for all solid timber construction projects and glue-free solid wood walls.
Our solid wood walls are tested for fire resistance REI-30, REI-60, and REI-90. When wood burns, it forms a layer of charcoal, which protects the underlying wood from high temperatures and reduces oxygen supply. This slows the burning rate significantly. The burning rate of solid wood is 0.5–0.65 mm/min.
The boards and beams are dried and planed directly at the Woodbloc site to guarantee consistent quality, maximum precision, and perfect surfaces for production.
We source our PEFC-certified wood mainly from local forest owners within a radius of around 30 kilometers. It is sawn at sawmills within about 20 kilometers and then processed directly on our premises. We are also happy to process our customers’, partners’, and builders’ own wood upon request.
We want to deliver “something proper”, as we say in Lower Bavaria. The best raw materials from local forest owners are part of this, as are continuous quality checks during processing, finished solid wood products, and much more.
